Rev. Fred L. Alexander-Funeral service will be Tuesday November 17, 2015 at 11 am at Tabernacle Baptist Church for Reverend Fred Lavar Alexander, 81, who departed this life Saturday November 7, 2015 in U.C. Davis Hospital in Sacremento, Calif. Rev. Alexander was born October 15, 1934 in Youngstown, a son of William and Essie Williams Alexander. He was a retired city worker of Youngstown, associate minister of the church, sang in its Male Chorus and was a member of the Sons American Legion Post No. 540. His wife, the former Ellen P. Spence, whom he married September 31, 1958, died November 12, 1999. He leaves his children, Laticia Alexander, Rosalyn (Hillyet) Mobley, Carlos Williams and Daryl Hall all of Youngstown, Alicia Flagg of Columbus, and Eboni Hall Cleveland, 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Fred L. Alexander Jr., 8 brothers: James, Robert, Calvin, Thomas, Julius, Nathaniel, Joseph, and Herbert, and 4 sisters: Emma McClendon, Willie R. Williams, Evelyn Alexander and Norma J. Carter. Friends may call Monday from 2 to 6 pm at F. D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home, Inc.and Tuesday from 10 to 11 am at the church.
