Randall P. Nuby Jr, 66, of Youngstown Ohio transitioned from this life Tuesday, December 24, 2024.

Randall was the 1st son born to Randall P. Nuby Sr and Rosalee (Jones) Nuby on April 20, 1958 in Youngstown, Ohio.

 He was  a 1976 graduate of South High went on to serve our country in the United States Navy. Upon returning to home Randy became an active member of the youth community being a mentor, big brother, and coach to many. He began coaching for various little league teams including New Bethel Braves, Youngstown Little Penguins, Buckeye Elks Raiders, Little Broncos, and Boys & Girls club. Randy also coached Campbell High School Basketball, Chaney Girls Basketball, East High Golden Bears head freshman and JV coach. In 2007 Randy coached the Juvenile Justice League youth basketball team where they went undefeated! He assisted coaching many other teams during his time as Volney Rogers League commissioner, bringing many championships to the organization. Randy was the founder of the McGuffey Midnight League, an Increase the Peace foundation member and former commissioner of a Youngstown adult basketball league. Randy also played star receiver #42 for the Pearl St mission under Coach Bobcat.

 Randy worked for Intensive Youth Services, George Jr Republic Youth Services, The City of Youngstown Park’s and Recreation Departmentand the Boys & Girls club. In 2018 Randy parterned with a local daycare to organize a Christmas Drive which raised over $1500, toys and more for the children of a slain Youngstown mother and newborn.

 In 2006 Randy established Rosalee’s Landscaping, dedicating the name to his late mother. Randy loved working alongside his brother/bestfriend Walter to enhance the beauty of his community. Randy had a saying “I do what I do not for myself, but for my family and my community” Randy wore his last name like a badge of honor.

Randy enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards & dominos with his siblings, attending live concerts, and attending his grandchildren’s sports events. He was a die hard Michigan State & Philadelphia Eagles football fan.

 He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life his loving wife Brenda (Brown) Nuby whom he married April 3, 1990; he also leaves his father Randall P. (Lucille) Nuby; one son Reginald Nuby of Youngstown; four daughters, Brandy (Thomas) McBride of Cleveland OH, Rachel Nuby, Candace Nuby, and Madison Nuby all of Youngstown OH, three brother, Walter(Audrey) Nuby, Timothy(Lareane) Nuby, Anthony(Stephanie) Nuby and one sister, Ramona Adams all of Youngstown, 13 grandchildren, Devontay Johnson, Brajion Nuby, Thomas McBride lll, Zion Nuby, Nevaeh Rivera, Brandon McBride, London Rivera, Aryiana Jones, Kylar Baldwin, Taylor and Torrence Thomas, Ryley Baldwin, and Alaya Nuby; his great niece, Jasmine Irby who he helped rear and his niece, Tizjai Nuby who he considered a daughter; Randy leaves a host of nieces nephews cousins & friends who he loved dearly. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosalee, his grandfather, Walter (Millie) Nuby; grandmother, Lula Nuby; granddaughter, Aliya Nuby, his aunt, Rose Marie Norman and cousin, George “Junie” Norman ll. 

 There will be a viewing from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Friday, January 3, 2025 at F.D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home, there will be additional viewing on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 8:30 to 10:00 AM at Greater Friendship Baptist Church where the homecoming will start promptly at 10:00 AM.
