Namon Carter III

Namon Carter III departed this life on March 10th,2025; he was born on December 21, 1959, in Youngstown, Ohio to Namon Carter, Jr and Willie Ann Howze.

At a very young age, Namon would always get up on Saturdays and seat in front of the television and watch Yogi the Bear. One of our dear cousins noticed the pattern and affectionately started calling him “Yogi” and it stuck with him. Later in life, he becamevery athletic in football as a quarterback. He was very talented at drawing and had an awesome singing voice. Namon was a people person, a personality like no other, who loved to make people laugh and smile with his crazy jokes and pranks.

He attended Thorn Hill Elementary, Science Hill Jr High and North High Schools. He was a member of the former Church of Hope, now known as the Cathedral of Hope and he just recently became a member of Union Baptist.

He leaves behind two brothers, Renaldo Carter and Alonzo Ransome, Jr.: two sisters, Crystal Carter and Jada Ransome; nephews, Cristoffer Carter, Kiev Ransome and Derek J. Ransome; niece, Monique Ransome and a host of other nieces and nephews.

Namon was preceded in death by his parents, hisgrandmothers, Henrietta M. Carter and Anna W. Howze and two uncles, Serious and Harry Howze.

Namon had a life full of love and adventure. He touched so many lives and is loved by many. We will truly, truly miss him.

JOB 23:10 But He knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold."

A visitation will be held Friday, March 28, 2025 from 11:00 - 12:00 with services immediately following at 12:00 PM all at F.D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home.
