Mykel J. Phipps

Mykel Jamor Phipps, 34, of Youngstown departed this life January 13, 2025 at Mercy Health-St Elizabeth Hospital.

Mykel was best known as "Mike" or "Jaws "was born December 24, 1990 to parents Nicole Gibbs and Roger (Ashawnte) Phipps, and stepfather Arthur Gibbs.

Mykel was a 2009 graduate of East High School. He had a very outgoing and loving personality and was very protective of his family and friends.

Mykel leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Nicole Gibbs and Roger Phipps; 4 sisters, Taylor Westlake of Seattle Washington, Derrycka Glass, and Nakya (Cameron Broussard) Gibbs both of Youngstown, and Aubrey Phipps of New Castle, Pennsylvania. 1 brother, Stacey Phipps of Warren, Ohio. He leaves his grandparents, Margaret S. Gilmer, Robert Warren and Bradie Higgs, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles who loved him dearly and many dear friends who cherished him.

He was preceded in death by his oldest brother, little Roger, niece Le'onna Phipps, Grandmother Michelle Phipps, Great Grandmother Evelyn W. Caldwell, Grandfather Robert Higgs, and his uncle Kevin Higgs.
