Mrs. Lola Mae Wilson of Youngstown, Ohio was born on July 26, 1944, to Emma G. Myers Wilson and Leola O. Wilson.
She attended The Rayen High School, Class of 1962. She later attended Youngstown State University (YSU) she majored in Sociology with a concentration in Social Services. She was employed at Garlands Barbeque stand as a cook and waitress for several years, thereafter, began her career with the Youngstown City School system as a breakfast/lunch attendant, librarian assistant and teacher’s aide. Culminating her career became a Social Worker for Mahoning County Adult and Child services.
Her hobbies in her earlier years, were skating and playing tennis,she also successfully completed nursing school, spending time with family and friends, telling good stories, singing in her church choir (Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church). She was a member of Living Testimony Ministries which she enjoyed the teachings of Pastor Al and Pastor Mary Cooper.
She leaves to cherish her memories, of her daughters Cassia Y. Workman (Youngstown, Oh.) and Dolishia K. King (Joe) (Alabama) brother; Edgar O. Wilson (Martha), Columbus, Ga., honorary brother; John E. Graham (Marietta) Youngstown, Ohio, grandchildren; Brandon (Atlanta, Ga) Kassia & Tre’Vael(Youngstown, Ohio) and Tashara T. Jefferson (Atlanta, Ga.) honorary son; Charles Taylor. A host of family, friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma G. Myers, father, Leola O. Wilson, brother, Lloyd Myers and her beloved grandson Cle’Vael ‘C.C.’ Workman.
There will be a visitation with the family from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Friday, November 15, 2024 at F.D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home and the service will start at 11:00 AM.
