Leafie M. Taylor - A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at the Third Baptist Church, for Mrs. Leafie M. Taylor, departed this life Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Ora, Miss., a daughter of Rev. Willie L. and Julia Robinson Gates.
She was a homemaker, a domestic worker, and a baby sitter. She was a member of the church, its Missionary Circle No. 1, Crusader’s Class, B.T.U. and The Tribe of Benjamin. She was a homemaker, who liked reading, cooking, baking, and doing cross-stitch embroidery; she made excellent cakes. Her husband, Nelson Taylor, whom she married on June 10, 1942, passed away in February of 1972.
She leaves a daughter, Juliette Taylor; nieces Deborah Thompson, Leafie Austin, and Alice Little; nephew Addison Little; great-nieces, Brittney and Denesha Thompson, and Demeika (Cory) Wheaton; great-nephews Lincoln Howard, and Minister Jim (Cynthia) Little III; cousin Lauretta Hines; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, and a brother.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the F.D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., and on Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. at the church.
