 Mr. John Floyd Grizzard of Youngstown, received the wings to his new heavenly home on Thursday October 24, 2024 at Mercy Health Select Specialty Hospital. 

 

Mr. Grizzard known as “Sunny” was born on June 2, 1934 in Tullahoma, Tennessee. He was the son of Ruth Conley and Lawson Moore known as Cubby and his birth father Floyd Grizzard. 

 

He was an avid sports fan with his favorite teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Boston Celtics. He also enjoyed watching western movies and Christian programs on TV. 

 

He retired from LTV Steel as a machinist and pipefitter in Warren, Ohio. He was a brother in the Elks Lodge and he was also a Mason.

 

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Rhonda Grizzard married over 24 years and together over 30; his twin sisters, Janet Santiago,l and Janice Moore of Maywood, IL; his children, Bryant Grizzard of Atlanta, GA, Roshaun Grizzard, John P. Grizzard, and Johnathan F. Grizzard, he reared, Kevin King, Danielle and Darryl Armstrong all of Youngstown; he also leaves 2 nieces, 1 nephew and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

 

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother, Gary Moore; his grandmother, Big Mama; and his mother-in-law, Olivia McBride. 

 

There will be a visitation with the family from 11:00 to 12:00 PM Monday, November 4, 2024 at Rising Star Baptist Church and the Homegoing Celebration will start at 12:00 PM.
