James Pickens Jr.- Funeral services were held today January 4, 2016 at 11 am at F. D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home for Mr. James Pickens, 86, who departed this life on Thursday December 24, 2015, at his residence. Mr. Pickens was born September 27, 1929, in Itta Bena, Mississippi, a son of James Pickens Sr. and Lula Jordan. He worked for Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co., was of the Methodost faith, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, a member of the McGuffey Bowling League, played baseball for Jenkins Bar, and was a very good cook. He leaves his wife, the former Beatrice McKinnon, whom he married November 19, 1960, a daughter; Lula (Robert) Clark of Chicago; Siblings; Shirley Ware of Austintown, Toye Larry of Youngstown, and Wendell Larry of Saginaw, Michigan, two sister-in-law, Tayoco Townsend of North Carolina, and Johnnie Malone of Louisville, Kentucky, 3 grandchildren; Robert Clark of Salt Lake City, Rodney Clark of San Antonio, and LaShondra Clark of Newark New Jersey, and great-grandchildren; Raevynne, Tre, Robynne, Nyla, and Geanna. He was preceded in death by his parents.
