Helen Tootsie Ramsey

Helen T.  Ramsey- Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church for Mrs. Helen Tootsie Ramsey, 79, Youngstown, who departed this life Friday, April 21, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Health Center. 

Mrs. Ramsey was born September 27, 1937, in Youngstown, a daughter of Willie B. and Ruby Lee Allen Graves. She was a radiology technician at St. Elizabeth Health Center, retiring in 1997, after 26 years of service. She was a member or the church and its usher board. Her husband, Clarence Christian, whom she married October 6, 1954 is deceased, and her second husband, William J. Ramsey, died October 1, 2014. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Helen Holland of Galt, CA., Clarence (Delores) Christian, William Christian, and Cedric Christian, all of Youngstown, Ruby Dickerson of North Charleston, SC., and Louis (Jovella) Christian of Sacramento, CA., 3 sisters; Alberta Cummings of Hawthorne, CA., Mary Thomas of Sacremento, CA., and Teneva Hicks of Youngstown, 7 brothers; Loran San Tucker of Milledgeville, GA., James (Evie) Cummings of Elk Grove, CA., Ivory Cummings of Williams, CA., Johnny (Barbara) Cummings, Ellis (Barbara) Cummings and Ronald Cummings all of Sacremento, and Robert (Patricia) Cummings of Reno, NV; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers Nathaniel, Clyde, and Curtis Cummings. Friends may call from 11 am to 12 noon on Thursday at the church.
