Gary Duane Carter

Gary D. Carter- Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday October 5, 2015 at the 5th Avenue Community Church for Mr. Gary D. Carter, 55, who departed this life on September 27, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Mr. Carter was born on October 1,1959 , a son of Roland T. Sr. & Leona Holmes Carter. He graduated from The Rayen School and received a degree from the Institute of Hospitality in Culinary Arts and from the Mahoning Joint Vocational School in welding. He was employed by National Food Bank of the Rockies in Denver. He was a carpenter for Artis & Gillam and Associates, and McKinney & Associates and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. He leaves to cherish his memory and a smile, his wife the former Yvonne Burt whom he married October 1, 2006, children: Candace P. Carter, & Josh Ashton both of Denver, Javon Muldrow of Columbus, Quiana Bills of Cranberry, PA, and Kennisha & Kendris Staples of Youngstown, step-mother: Sarah Silva, sisters: LaPhaun (George) Bennett, Camela (Sam) Shorter, and Altina (Kevin) Clarke, all of Youngstown, brothers: Keith and Roland F.Carter, and Edmond Johnson of Youngstown, 14 grandchildren, including Bre'Nyah, Brandon, Eris, and Alijah who lived with "Papa Gary" a childhood friend who was like a brother: Mark Andrews 26 nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call from 11 am to 12 noon at the church. Arrangements are being handled by F. D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home.
