Donald R. A. McLendon-Funeral services will be at 12 noon on Friday, April 29, 2016, at the Antioch Baptist Church for Donald Reginald "Reggie" Allen McLendon, 59, who lost his battle with cancer, with his loving wife at his side at Zusman Hospice House, in Columbus, Ohio, on Thursday, April 21, 2016. Mr. McLendon was born February 18, 1957, in Youngstown, a son of Donnie Echols and Marie McLendon. He worked at Faculty & Operations Development at The Ohio
State University, graduated in 1975 from The Rayen High School, was a avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and played baseball at Evans Field, and loved to travel and listen to music, especially Earth, Wind, and Fire. He leaves his wife, the former Juliette D. Brimmer Southerland, whom he married November 6, 2009, children; Candace L. McLendon of Columbus, and Brandy and Donny L. McLendon, both of Youngstown, 2 stepsons; Jeffrey E. Southerland II and Jerette M. Southerland, both of Youngstown, siblings; Daryl "Porky" McLendon and Dawna Echols (Rudy) Snipes Sr., all of Youngstown, and Angela (Andre) Martin of Columbus. He was reared with his aunts and uncles, Bernice Dukes, Dorothy McLendon, Linda Spivey and Mack McLendon, all of Youngtstown, father-in-law David Brimmer of Columbus, 9 grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents Needum and Adrill McLendon, and James and Louise Echols Sr., grandchildren twins Brandon and Darrell Brown; uncles Eddie Dukes Sr., and Dan Spivey Jr., and great aunt Lonnie Mae Freeman. Friends may call from 11 am to 12 noon on Friday at the church.
