Derrick Shivers

Mr. Derrick “Punchy” Shivers of Youngstown who departed this life on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Mr. Shivers was born May 7, 1959 a son of Yvonne “Bonnie” and Richard Shivers becoming the second oldest child.

He attended “Thee” Rayen High School on the north side of Youngstown. He worked at General Motors for 20+ years before retiring to become a truck driver.

He loved playing the drums, going to car shows and also restoring old school cars. He loved attending church and going to Bible study. But most of all he loved spending time and going to sporting events with his son Akeem.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his father; his number one son , Derrick “Akeem” Shivers; his brother, Vincent Shivers; his sister, Shasta
and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his mother, grandparents, June and Joseph Brown; his brother, Geniro Shivers; his uncle, Carl McGuire Sr. and aunt, Dolores Allen.
