Clifford Murphy Shipp Jr.

Clifford M. Shipp Jr-Funeral service will be 12 noon Tuesday, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, for Mr. Clifford M. Shipp Jr, 92, Youngstown, who departed this life on Monday, April 23, 2018, in Liberty Healthcare Center.

Mr. Shipp was born January 31, 1926, in Youngstown, a son of Clifford M. and Virgie Cline Shipp Sr. Clifford graduated from The Rayen School and was recognized as one of  the area's finest basketball players and played for various local teams. He retired from General Fireproofing Company where he worked and served as a Union Official. He also was a member of the Buckeye Elks Lodge #73. He leaves to cherish his memories 2 grandsons; Daryl (Charlotte) Jones, and Dennis J. Paige of Las Vegas, NV., a granddaughter; Ms. Leslie Thompson, Dallas, TX., 3 nieces; Iris Adams, Lela Wilkerson, and Geral Lynn Johnson, 2 nephews; Alfred Smith of Richmond, VA., and Earl (Ricky) Walters of Warren, Ohio, cousin and caregiver JoAnne McDowell and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; the former Mabel Grant, 2 sons; Clifford M. III and Dennis Shipp, and a sister Helen M. Shipp. Friends may call from 11 am to 12 noon at the church.
