Carl Allen Bogan Sr.

Carl A. Bogan Sr.-Funeral services was held Monday, May 2, 2016, at St. Andrews A. M. E. Church for Mr. Carl Allan Bogan Sr., 72, who departed this life on Tuesday April 26, 2016, at Hospice of the Valley. Mr. Bogan was born April 24, 1944, in Youngstown, OH., to the late John and Emma Bogan. He accepted Christ at an early age at St. Andrews A.M.E. Church in Youngstown, OH. He was a faithful member, serving as a steward of the church and lending his heartfelt support in the church's building campaign and relocation at its current address. On any given Wednedays, you'd find him at the church by feeding the poor. From 1963 to 1967,  he served with distinction as a soldier in the Army during the Vietman War. In April 1970, Carl married Betty Johnetta DeLoach. God blessed their wonderful union of 46 years with 3 amazing children, 2 sons and 1 daughter, Carl Allan Jr., Wynn Douglas, and Alexis Joy. He loved the South Side of Youngstown and you would find him there often, catching up with family and friends at a beloved establishment, taking his kids to Idora Park, or for a row boat trip at Mill Creek Park. He was funny, spoke up fiercely for what he believed, worked harder than any other building his homestead, while working overtime at the General Motor's Corp. Those who knew him and loved him, knew that if you ever had a need, he'd give the shirt off his back to make sure no one in his circle had any lack. Carl leaves to cherish his loving memories, his bride of 46 years, Betty Johnetta, and his children; Carl Allan (Melody) Jr., and Alexis, 3 grandchildren; Carl Allan III, Vivian Rae, and Samantha Leigh; His beloved sister; Sandra Bogan, and brother, Sherwood Bogan; his darling niece; Min. Eboni Bogan, and a host of relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his son, Wynn Douglas Bogan.
