Betty L Griffin- Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at the F. D. Mason Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., for Mrs. Betty Lou Griffin, 81, Youngstown, who departed this life on Monday. May 12, 2017.
Mrs. Griffin was born August 23, 1935, in Kannapolis, SC., a daughter of Ralph and Minnie Bell Harris Moore. She was a member of St. Peters Baptist Church, it's Mother's Board, secretary for its Willing Worker's, member of Youngstown Christian Ushers Assoc., Ladies Auxiliary for American Legion #504, Eastern Star #6 Naomi Chapter, the NAACP, and was a dispatcher for the Youngstown Police Department. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children; Charles and Paul Green, Vera (Efram) Hubbard, Shirley (Richard) Dean and Thomas (Vicki Rankin) Carter, all of Youngstown and Sonny Long of Columbus, a sister Annie Bush of Youngstown; 24 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, companion Jesse Dukes, special friends, Betty Johnson and Elsie Floyd; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Charles Green, who died in 2000, and Clifford Griffin who died in 2012, children; Bobby and Janice Green, 3 brothers, Ralph, J.W. and Thomas Moore; 3 sisters, Lillie Charlton, Rochelle Hutchinson and Nell Brown, and a brother-in-law, Lennill Bush. Friends may call from 10 am to 11 am, Tuesday at the funeral home.
