Barbara J Raines

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara J. Raines. Barbara departed for heaven on December 26,2024, after an extended illness. 

Barbara was the third of four daughters born to the union of John Thomas Raines Jr. and Audrey Zeigler in 1953, Youngstown, Ohio. Barbara attended Campbell Memorial High School class of 1971. She went on to attend California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, Ca, earning a bachelor’s degree in communications. She then earned a Master’s degree in communications from Rowan University, Glassboro, NJ. Barbara was the ultimate communicator, she lived the life of her dreams. She spent over 40 years in Southern California working for Max Factor, Hughes Aircraft, Lockheed Martin, & The Boeing Company.

 Barbara had an adventurous nature traveling to Europe, Africa, & South America. She touched many lives through her kindness, compassion, and vibrant spirit. She ultimately made her home in Youngstown, Ohio, to care for her ailing mother. Barbara will be remembered and forever missed by her sisters, Debra Bryant (Richard) and Sharon Raines-Finn. Her nephews, Donald Raines (LeTigra), and DJ & Damon Raines, two uncles, her favorite Aunty M (Mary Royster) and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Janice Raines, grandparents, and many cousins. 

To honor her request there will be no services held but just keep her memory in your hearts.
